Floating Display Shelf

As of now this is no a smart device, but as usual, I can not create a project without adding LED's to it.  In this case I have not added RGB LED's, but just plain white.  This is just a nice display shelf I made our of 18mm plywood, with removable shelves.

The LED strip is connected to the home automation system but there are not automations set up.  This is connected to a battery backup however so this shelf serves as a night light when the power goes out, instead of running for lamps, candles or flashlights, I have this light that I can turn on.  
A potential automation to make it smart would be to detect when the grid power goes down and if its dark inside turn the light on assuming people are still awake in the house.

For now its not smart and was just a fun project to build.  There will be more DIY projects in future posts.... not everything needs to be smart I guess.... or does it.
